A native of Mexico, Ragnar Conde is a stage director, producer, playwright-screenwriter, and teacher. He has been working since 1992, participating in over 170 projects in opera, theater, film, and large-scale shows in Mexico, the United States, Colombia, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Japan. These projects include theatre, opera, musicals, concerts and films, with credits ranging from Stage Director, Producer, Writer, and Acting Coach to Scenic, Lighting and Costume Designer and several world premieres of operas, working directly with the composers.  Mr. Conde has taught classes in acting, dance, corporal expression and arts. He has extensive experience working with opera singers and children in professional staging for theatre, opera and concerts. He has also worked in design, production management and stage management in several national and international projects. A fellow of the Merola Opera Program at the San Francisco Opera Center, he has been a recipient of the "México en Escena" program (2015-2021 and 2024). He is currently a member of the San Miguel MetOpera Trust Board and the District Director for the Laffont Competition at the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC.

He has collaborated with some of the country's most important cultural institutions and organizations, including orchestras, universities, national and international opera companies, foundations, festivals, singing competitions, film companies, and large-format shows. Notable among the latter are "Viva Verdi" at the Hallenstadion in Zürich, Switzerland; "México Espectacular" at Xcaret; the inaugural show of the "66th FIFA Congress" at the Auditorio Nacional; the Operalia 2016 International Singing Competition, where he served as a host for Medici TV; and the world premiere of the Cuitlahuátzin cantata in the Macroplaza of Iztapalapa for 6,000 spectators.

Through Escenia Ensamble, a Mexican non-profit he founded and has directed since 2008, he has promoted the training and development of young artists from various disciplines, including stage performers, visual artists, musicians, opera singers, stage directors, creative professionals, and producers, among others. He has become known for creating high-quality, multidisciplinary shows with social content that seek to raise awareness about various environmental and social issues, as well as for developing new audiences among younger generations.

For his contributions to the country's culture and to new generations of artists, he received the San Benito Award in Arts (2017) and the National Art and Culture Award "Mil Mentes por México" (2018). He has a Master in Humanities from Anahuac University, and his research includes the subject "Women history in opera".
